Fighting Phat

I need to lose weight and this blog is about my fight against fat. I was 145 kgs (319lbs) at the start of my quest. My goal is to lose 45 kgs (99lbs) of fat. I will be posting my experiences, exercise charts, nutrition plans, and weight on a regular basis to track my progress towards my goal weight of 100 kgs (222lbs). I hope that there are some people out there that might want to join me, post comments, or who may find my blog helpful for any weight loss they may wish to achieve.

Blog Changes, Web Site Progress, and a Good Night

I couldn't sleep well so I am up and about in the early morning working on the blog and the web page. I have added a weight loss tracker to the blog that you'll be able to see now. In line with the comment on my previous post, it records my total loss against my starting weight to keep things in perspective. At this point it is being measured against my long term goal, as I think that this is the best measure for the moment. I might change to the short term goals in future, however for now the long term goal will be the measure.

In relation to the web page, I have now sorted out the issue I had with the pages not linking to each other. The homepage and the spreadsheets pages are now up and link to each other. I had to change the links that were previously on the blog, so make sure that you click on the links that are on the blog now to get to the web site, rather than use any existing bookmark that you may have. Click here for access to the new homepage of the site. I will do some more work on the spreadsheet page so that the template I used is also available, as well as the spreadheet that has my data (which is now available to download). I will get to work on the other pages tomorrow, but for now I am happy to have that sorted out at last!

Last night I went to my partner's alumni association get together and had a good time. I am pleased to report that I did not drink any alcohol at all during the evening, in spite of running into a former rugby playing colleague of mine from several years ago. I had no idea that he would be there, and as it turned out I knew more people at the alumni association that my partner did! We've made plans to catch up to watch a rugby game sometime, which could be dangerous in terms of drinking alcohol. I will probably leave it until I have made some progress and am due a night off. It was good to see someone there that I knew and I felt better about being out and about having lost a few kilos. That is a good incentive to carry on with losing more weight.

I had a few pieces of the finger food on offer, which I had hoped to avoid. However, I decided to have some as it wasn't too fatty, and it turned out to be a small dinner so all in all it worked out well. I had a couple of espressos after the function and I suspect that may be the reason for my inability to sleep, and hence my early morning work on the blog and web site! There is still bad weather here so I am not sure how I will go in terms of getting out with my partner for a substantial walk this weekend, I think that the gym will be the best that I can manage. That should do, and of course I will keep you all posted on how that goes!
