Fighting Phat

I need to lose weight and this blog is about my fight against fat. I was 145 kgs (319lbs) at the start of my quest. My goal is to lose 45 kgs (99lbs) of fat. I will be posting my experiences, exercise charts, nutrition plans, and weight on a regular basis to track my progress towards my goal weight of 100 kgs (222lbs). I hope that there are some people out there that might want to join me, post comments, or who may find my blog helpful for any weight loss they may wish to achieve.

A Busy Day - New Web Site Working!!

1 August 2006 has indeed been a productive day for me. First of all I have successfully constructed my outdoor furniture and it now has pride of place out the front of our apartment. It was really nice being able to sit down at the chairs and table in the afternoon sun. I didn’t manage to get out for any more exercise this afternoon, I was a bit sore after the efforts of this morning, however I don’t think that will hurt me too much. Better to be able to hit the gym fresh tomorrow morning and give it a really decent nudge. I will keep you all posted with how that goes.

The really big news is that I have managed to set up a web site to complement this blog. The link can be found in the ‘links’ section of this blog, or you can click here, or you can cut and paste this text into your browser: http://fightingphat.50webs.com/ The site is a work in progress at this point, however I intend to use the web page to complement the blog that you have been reading and to make available any resources that I come across in my fight against fat. Hopefully the resources that helped me might help people who are trying to lose weight like I am. I hope that you all check it out and let me know what you think of it.

That page is the first web page that I have ever set up and the going at this stage is pretty slow, but I am happy that I was able to at least get the index page up and running today. Don’t worry if something doesn’t work for the meantime, I will be working on the web site each day after my workouts and what doesn’t work at the moment will soon be fixed I’m sure. The main thing you should be aware of if you do check it out is that only the index page is up, so the navigation links to other pages on the site won’t lead anywhere yet. The links to other sites should all work, and I intend to add to those in the future. I’m sure that it’ll be up and running in no time, and of course I will keep you all posted via the blog on how it is going and of any new updates.

Also, I have set up an e-mail address that you all should feel able to use if you want to make comments or to contact me, but don’t want your comments or records of your contacting me to be published yet. Looking forward to the postings tomorrow and keep those comments coming, they really make a difference as it is hard to embark on a lengthy process like this without anyone to help you through it. It is my hope that this blog, and the web page, can get a community of people together that all want to win the fight against fat.
